Giro

gi·ro \ˈjir-(ˌ)ō\ \ˈzhir-o\ \ˈjē-(ˌ)rō\
noun 19th Century Latin

: a service of European banks that permits authorized direct transfer of funds among account holders

Like the lamb-based pita sandwich of Greek origin to which this term bears a striking resemblance, this word also confuses people who attempt pronouncing it...yet is nowhere near as delicious.

Swith

swith \'swith\

adverb 13th Century Middle English

: strongly, quickly

When researching this word all over the internet I came across only this one example of it being used in a sentence:

That thou doest, do thou swithe.

I rest my case.

Intentionally Left Blank

Oh Words With Friends™ youre one cheeky little bitch. I see what you did there. Tell me that it's my turn after giving me nothing but consonants. You think this is funny, dont you? Methinks you should pursue a career as a stand-up comedian. Maybe it's that hot dog i had at the minor league baseball game yesterday or maybe Ive got a hunch that you could really hit it big-time like some of the other greats (Sinbad, Dane Cook, Carrot Top, Gallagher, etc.). On second thought, I don't know why im giving you advice. You aren't very kind. Do me a favor and go dine on a penis.

editors note: this screen-shot was taken by me. apparently the Words With Friends™ gods are aware of this website and have begun taking their revenge.

Pewee

pe·wee \ˈpiwi\

-noun

:1 any of several New World flycatchers of the genus Contopus.

2 the phoebe.

Upon seeing this played I was briefly reminded of the man who's playhouse and films I enjoy to this day. Evidently that dude has four "E's" though. So just what the hell is a "pewee" then? Turns out; two things apparently. A North American bird who eats flies in addition to being the haircut worn by actress Lisa Kudrow's character on the popular television show "Friends". See also "The Rachel".

Rale

rale \ral, rahl\

noun-pathology

: an abnormal crackling or rattling sound heard upon auscultation of the chest, caused by disease or congestion of the lungs.

Turns out that this is the scientific term used for the sound made when the whooping cough is whooping your ass. The more you know...

Therme

therme \θɜrm\

noun. physics

: any of several units of heat, as one equivalent to 1000 large calories or 100,000 British thermal units

whether or not I failed high school physics doesnt matter right now. what does matter is this word is a sneaky little bitch. Just because you gave yourself an extra "E" at the end doesnt make you any different than the more commonly used "therm". Youre like the 19 year old identical twin who starts feeling a little independence and chops all her hair off because shes sick and tired of being called her sisters name. Now nobody knows who you are. Go back to your dark corner of the lab "therme".

Ogee

o·gee \ˈəʊdʒiː\

noun - architecture

: a molding having the profile of an S-shaped curve.

an s-shaped molding you say? hmmm that sounds kinda familiar. oh shit! thats right: cyma!!! so, ogee is a synonym of cyma? crazy. This week ive leared that words with friends™ is quite popular among the architects and that in the future when I never get to purchase a house in California ill be sure to use these specialized terms in hopes of impressing the imaginary real estate agent and my non-existent spouse.
